Honor Local Veterans on National Purple Heart Day

By William Tauro

This event is absolutely something that is very close to my heart! My father, after migrating from Italy, joined the United States Army. He became a sergeant under General Patton in the tank division. He told me in his own words the complete story of how it broke his heart that he had to go back to Italy and fight his own people, but he was an American citizen now, and he had to do what he had to do! William Tauro’s Statement at the 7/20/23 Rent Stabilization Meeting

This was my testimony the other night that I presented live at the Rent Stabilization Meeting that was held at the Armory. Mysteriously the audio on my testimony conveniently didn’t have audio, but only video and it was considered “technical difficulties”, so no audio was recorded that evening. So here it is in a nutshell!
—————————————————————-

Attached is my testimony:

William Tauro’s Statement at the 7/20/23 Rent Stabilization Meeting

This meeting tonight has got to be one of the biggest examples of mismanagement that I’ve ever seen. The city’s lack of communication to it’s residents on such an important issue like this depriving them of their rights to be part of this meeting with only two days notice to residents via email, in July, during the greatest time when a majority of residents are out of town during vacation season is unbelievable. If this wasn’t a case of mismanagement, then it was nothing but a dirty trick. But we are here now tonight so let’s get this meeting underway and salvage what we can for the sake of the city. Somerville Costing Taxpayers Millions By Not Following “Measure Twice Cut Once Rule”

By William Tauro

You just got to love Somerville’s project managers or maybe not? This intersection located at Somerville Avenue at Medford Street in Somerville had just laid the new hardtop on Somerville Avenue by John’s Auto Sales and the Target department store only about a week or so ago. We all thought it was the finished product after two long years. But no, not so fast, today, they are again tearing it up again…tax dollars at work. Barletta is the contractor…not sure why? What Is Happening To Somerville Intersections?

By William Tauro

This newest Somerville monstrosity is located at the intersection of Glen and Oliver Streets in Somerville right next to the Glen Street playground. I have no clue what it is and everyone that I spoke to has no clue what it is either. Whatever it is, it’s in between the intersection of two one-way streets, and off-center (not even in the center of the road)mind you. God forbid an emergency and an ambulance or a hook-and-ladder fire apparatus needs to go around this thing to save a life, to battle ablaze, or for any emergency purposes at all it won’t make it. That’s One Way of Getting It Done and Catching Our Elected Official’s Attention I guess?

By William Tauro

Residents are frustrated with the lack of maintenance being performed around our city and especially on islands and around trees with weeds and shrubbery that’s growing out of control! But look what people are doing now by taking the bull by the horns, pulling the weeds themselves, and tossing it into the curb for the city to clean up.

By William Tauro

Just a few questions of concern,

As in many past meetings concerning budgets , those particular meetings must run as long a s necessary to settle all concerns for a proper budget to be approved. That is part of the job!
But, If you, and the School Committee members knew ahead of time, as you stated, that there was a possibility of endangering a child within a school then what took you so long to react with an all hands on deck 24/7 emergency mode?
