DAVID’S OBITUARY

David Oliver Woodworth, 80, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, formerly of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (‘Betty’) Woodworth.

Dave was born in Newport, Rhode Island on December 13, 1942 to the late George and Betsy Woodworth (Dewey) and was a graduate of Lynn English High School in Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves before beginning a decades long career at General Electric in Lynn where he met the love of his life, Betty. He was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, the Patriots. Dave enjoyed his cars and cigars and spending retirement with Betty between the Cape and Florida where he could often be found relaxing by the water watching the boats go by.
Besides his wife, he leaves his four children and two stepchildren, Melissa Woodworth of Danvers, Davida Villella and her husband Donnie of Topsfield, Alana Marino and her husband Paul of Westwood and Sasha Foley and her husband Sam of West Peabody, Mark Linehan and his wife Sogna Scott of Derry, New Hampshire, and Shawn Linehan and his wife Nicole of Wakefield. He was Grandfather to Kyle, Chad, Alex, Colin, Joshua, Evan, Jake, Chloe, Zachary, CJ, Paul, Sasha, Nicholas, Olivia, Julia and Gianna and dear brother to Marcia Babbitt (Woodworth) and her late husband Michael Babbitt as well as uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 10am to 1pm with a graveside service to follow at 1:30pm at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
