Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,
Hey Billy, I have a tip for you that you might be able to use. The red light at the honor roll in front of city hall has been out for at least a month. That’s there to honor those who served as you know (in lieu of an eternal flame).
Memorial to the Veterans of WWII from the City of Somerville
This memorial stands outside Somerville City Hall and Somerville HIgh School along Highland Avenue on Central Hill in Somerville, Massachusetts. Called the “City of Somerville Honor Roll”, this memorial has column after column of names of those who fought in World War II from Somerville. The memorial was restored in 2004 after time had dirtied and warped the glass, obscuring the names. A small portion is dedicated to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who had recently died.
