Obituary
James Coleman affectionaly known to everyone as Jim, passed away peacefully at the age of 83.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the late Robert and Virginia Coleman, Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, husband, partner, and friend. He is survived by his loving partner of 24 years; Melanie Putnam, of Hudson, New Hampshire; his son, William Coleman and his wife, Donya, of Lawton, Oklahoma; and his daughter, Deborah Dentamaro and her husband, Anthony, of Somerville, Massachusetts. Jim is predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Liberacki; and his brother, Robert Coleman, both from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his former wife, Rose Coleman of Somerville, Massachusetts. They shared 34 years of marriage, raised a family and created many memories that remained an important part of his story. He leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life.
For more than 25 years, Jim worked as a technician at Raytheon. After retiring, he devoted more time to his greatest passion – fishing. Whether deep sea fishing in his younger years or exploring freshwater spots later in life, Jim found peace, happiness and adventure on the water.
To those fortunate enough to know him, Jim will be remembered for more than his love of fishing. He had a remarkable ability to captivate people with his stories and jokes, often punctuated by his wicked sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Though his absence will be deeply felt, the memories he created, the stories he told, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
“May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it, and may the wind be always at your back.”
Fish on, Jim.
