Somerville’s Cobble Hill Plaza Getting Ready for Demo

According to sources the Cobble Hill Plaza a strip mall located at 102 Washington Street in Somerville is about the soon be closed.

The strip mall is being vacated to begin demolition stages to make room for 150 market rate units five stores high.

Some businesses have already moved out of the mall and the last standing units in the mall are Andrea’s Pizza and Tedeschi Food Shop Market.

Demolition of the site is scheduled for sometime in August.

Statement of Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian Regarding the Closure of the Middlesex Jail in Cambridge

Following 32 years of continuous operation, the Middlesex Jail at the Edward J. Sullivan Courthouse in Cambridge officially closed today.
