Join the City of Somerville and Somerville Museum for Ceremony on Wed., Nov. 11, at Historic Milk Row Cemetery
SOMERVILLE– The City of Somerville and the Somerville Museum invite the community to the 2026 Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony at Somerville’s historic Milk Row Cemetery on Somerville Avenue. The ceremony will take place on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Join the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, HM 10th Regiment of Foot, and 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, as well as Mayor Jake Wilson, City Councilors, and the Somerville Office of Veterans’ Services as they honor our veterans at the 1863 Civil War Monument and the gravesite of an unknown British Soldier.
The brief ceremony and speaking program will honor all Somerville veterans including paying tribute to the Somerville veterans buried at or commemorated by the 1863 Civil War Monument in Milk Row Cemetery. The event is free and open to the public, and the site is ADA accessible. Seating will be available.
Milk Row Cemetery is located at 439 Somerville Ave., next to Market Basket. An optional online RSVP is requested (it helps staff plan), but RSVP is not required. This event is co-hosted by the City of Somerville and the Somerville Museum, which is contracted by the City to organize historic events and ceremonies, with support by the Somerville Historic Commission.
In observance of Veterans Day, the Somerville Office of Veterans Services will also place wreaths at City Hall and North Street Cemetery and provide wreaths for the George Dilboy Post VFW 529 and Disabled American Veterans Somerville #27.
