SOMERVILLE, MA – The City of Somerville is seeking to extend its eviction moratorium by two months and ultimately sunset the moratorium on June 30, 2022. Otherwise set to expire on April 30, the proposed extension and sunset date will be considered by the Somerville Board of Health at its Thursday, April 21, meeting. A Somerville Police Officer suffered a non-life-threatening injury via an unintentional discharge of the officer’s duty weapon causing injury.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on April 6, 2022. The injured officer was transported to an area hospital where the Officer was treated and released. The officer is expected to make a full recovery. No one else was injured.

I was surprised you put a flyer under every door at Cobble Hill on Sunday, although I am glad that all residents are informed of the City’s scheduling of a Brown Bag Lunch for Cobble Hill Residents on December 8th from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Ralph & Jenny Center.

Matt, you have known me for many years. Several times you were an important part of our annual Cobble Hill Christmas party. That said, your “leaflet bombing” of every Cobble Hill apartment without my knowledge seems unusually aggressive and on some level threatening. Had you asked for me to circulate the flyer I would have done so. But you already know that.
