The Somerville Zoning Board of Appeals and the Historic Preservation Commission are seeking new members, and all Somerville residents are invited to apply.

The Zoning Board of Appeals is looking for one full-time member (a five-year term) and one alternate member (a two-year term). This board reviews all variances and appeals under the Somerville Zoning Ordinance. Alternate members participate in all discussion and vote in place of full-time members when they cannot attend. The Historic Preservation Commission is seeking seven new members to help protect and enhance Somerville’s historic resources. Six open positions require specific expertise (for example, a background in architecture or residency in a Local Historic District). Read more about eligibility requirements and apply by May 20.
