Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Can you look into how the heck did they vote every Wednesday starting September that Somerville school children will have a half day every Wednesday so the teachers can plan? That means if I’m right the children will miss at least 10 hrs a month of education. I believe they get out at noon on these days rather than 2:30. Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, approximately between 11:30 pm – 1:30 pm, an MBTA Sweeper Machine was busily spinning ’round and ’round in the interior of The Clarendon Hill Towers/MBTA Bus Terminal.

“Partial Paving” In Somerville A Bad Decision

By William Tauro

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is now having the City of Somerville utilizing a road paving technique called “Partial Paving!” This technique of paving in past years in other cities and towns has proven not to be the right decision. Paving just the center drive lane strip and not the two parking lanes will create a lip at the edge of the pavement. This edge would pose a safety hazard for pedestrians and bicyclists or motorcycles that can easily trip or lose control of their bicycle or motorcycles over it.

Last year, $3 billion in refunds were returned to taxpayers when the law was triggered for just the second time since its passage in 1986. It just goes on and on as one failure after another leads to another one. Our Powder House Circle was like a national monument to this city. Not it looks like something out of a comic book causing people to drive more to get around this corn maze. It should be considered defacing a national treasure it is so bad.
