Jones, Lawrence G. “Larry”—Of Somerville, passed away after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was 63 years old.
Born in Medford and raised in Somerville, he was the devoted son of the late John H. and Lorraine A. (Fidalgo) Jones. Larry was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his siblings, their children and his extended family and friends. He loved to cook and was known for his delicious stuffed mushrooms, mashed potatoes and any family recipes. Larry enjoyed everything tennis and watching his favorite show, Meerkat Manor. He enjoyed his travels, especially to Italy and Maine. He loved art, jewelry and most of all fashion. Before his illness, he worked as a Practice Manager at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital.
He was the beloved brother of Sharon McCune and her husband James, Michele Calautti and Stephen Jones and his wife Julie all of Somerville. He was the cherished uncle of Jimmy and Matt McCune, Tommy and Samantha Calautti, and Alexandra and Brendan Jones. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A Funeral procession will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq) Somerville on Wednesday, June 21st at 9:00AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church 399 Medford St., Somerville at 10:00AM.
Calling Hours will be Tuesday, June20th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Larry’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
