Alex Foster Foundation Fundraiser

This March, the Alex Foster Foundation (AFF) will host their first fundraiser. AFF is a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to educate and raise awareness about addiction, and to offer support to those who are struggling with addiction and their families. The Foster family formed the foundation after the loss of Alex, their son and brother, at the age of 28 in 2014. That year, almost 1,400 people in Massachusetts died from Substance Use Disorder. Somerville Firefighter on NECN Reporting on “MDA Fill The Boot Fundraising”

Congratulations to Somerville Firefighter Jay Colbert who was on TV at the Bruins game this past Saturday reporting on the “MDA Fill The Boot Fundraising” efforts from firefighters raising over $107,000,000 million dollars so far for MDA. 

Jay previewed on NESN in between periods of the game reaching thousands of people for a great cause!

Somerville’s Snow Emergency Will End at 6:00a.m. on Friday, February 10th

Somerville’s snow emergency will end at 6 a.m. on Friday, February 10, and normal parking rules will go back into effect at that time. Vehicles parked in municipal lots must be moved within two hours of the end of a snow emergency. Vehicles still in municipals lots after 8 a.m. on Friday may be subject to ticketing and towing. Somerville Parking Regulations DURING a Snow Emergency

Because winter starts in an even year this year (2016), when a snow emergency is in effect, parking is allowed on the even-numbered side of the street ONLY, unless the street has posted signage that states otherwise. Vehicles parked on the odd-numbered side of the street must either be moved to the even side, or to another location.
