Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

Please help me in honoring this Somerville hometown hero!

Jackie Furtado-Cole, has been working 10.5 years as a crossing guard. She is currently working on Glen Street @ the Capuano School. She is a dedicated crossing guard to all the children. Jackie makes sure the kids are safe crossing the street in front of the school. She also makes sure the little kids are not bullied by the older kids at the playground.

My Granddaughter Josephine is a student in the preschool class, so I’ve been absorbing how dedicated Jackie is to all the children and there families.

I Joanna Callinan would like Jackie Furtado-Cole to be recognized with her dedication as a crossing guard at the Capuano School. Please and Thank you.

Somerville resident,

Joanna Costante Callinan
