The #SomervilleStories Collection is Live
Somerville Community Access Television has been working in partnership with different community groups to collect stories about Somerville. As the City of Somerville continues to evolve, it is important to document the past with the present. Some fabulous stories have been captured to achieve this exact mission. Some of these stories were collected in partnership with the Somerville Arts Council, where people were interviewed inside & outside their M.U.S.C.R.A.T. bus as well as at the Union Square Farmers Market, where SCATV setup an interactive storytelling booth. Hear stories from local politicians, community residents, activists, artists and others about their experience living and/or working in Somerville. some fabulous storytelling videos been captured to achieve this exact mission. Dedication of Playground in Memory of Officer Sean Collier
This past Saturday, a playground was dedicated to the memory of MIT Officer Sean Collier at Silver Lake in Wilmington. Officer Collier was a Wilmington native and attended the Wilmington Public Schools before moving to Somerville where he embraced the Somerville community as his own. Fire on Greenville St Somerville
At 1150 a.m. on Thursday, September 24th, the Somerville Fire Department responded to a fire at 9 Greenville Street. Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving the contents of a construction dumpster located in the driveway. Heat from the fire resulted in considerable damage to the exterior of the three family home.

In the course of my campaign for School Committee, I’ve spent the summer walking all over Ward 4, from my home street of Governor Winthrop to Lee St. While I’ve been talking to residents throughout Winter and Ten Hills about the need to address the Achievement Gap and to get our teachers and students the resources they need to thrive; mostly I’ve been listening.
