Board of Aldermen Public Hearing on banning plastic bags

  
There will be a Public Hearing before the Board of Aldermen’s Committee on Legislative Matters on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 6:30 PM, in the Aldermanic Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 93 Highland Avenue, on the Order of Alderman Mary Jo Rossetti, Chair of the Committee, for public input related to the city’s proposed ban on plastic bags. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND AND BE HEARD.

  1. It doesn’t work if the goal is to reduce litter. People can still use the banned bag. They can use anything they want as long as they buy it. The stores will now sell you a thicker plastic or paper bag. Look up articles. People are throwing the thicker bags away just like the thinner ones. How is that saving the planet?
