My source has told me the corruption, Bullying and abuse of power is so terrible that employees actually get physically sick at work and sometimes have to throw up in the bathrooms or go home early because Maria Curtatone’s treatment of people is so abominable and disgusting……Maria goes in to work and looks like she stayed up all night smoking Crack……her makeup smeared all over her face, wearing dirty sneakers and yoga pants…..very professional…..

For over two years William Tauro, his family and campaign staff were dealing with two cyber terrorist who were threatening and harassing Tauro and his family online and on certain social media platforms and online news websites to interfere with his election campaign and more important he was harassing Tauro’s family including his wife, his children, his nine grandchildren and his campaign staff, but they took it too far! It continued for over 2 1/2 years until Tauro contacted federal authorities and the Somerville Police Department. Mr. Henry Augusto Maciel, a lifelong Somerville resident, passed away on Thursday, October 24th he was 91. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Jose A. and Mary D. (Soares) Maciel. A graduate of Somerville High School, Henry worked for the Somerville Public School System as a custodian and retired following many years of service.

The Senate 38-2, approved and sent to the House climate/energy legislation that supporters say will make systemic changes to the state’s clean energy infrastructure that will help the state achieve its net zero emissions by 2050 goals. They say it will also expand electric vehicle use and infrastructure and protect residents and ratepayers. A House-Senate conference committee drafted the compromise version to resolve the differences in the competing versions approved by the House and Senate earlier this year.

MVES Event Features VR, Music, 7News Reporter as MC, and More

Families from Medford and surrounding communities participated in a Virtual Reality program this summer at Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES). The VR program was designed for caregivers and their loved ones. They had a chance to “travel” around the world, but perhaps more exciting, they were able to revisit beloved spots such as the house they grew up in or the church where they were married. This program was especially moving for those with memory loss such as dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

The Massachusetts Association for Community Action (MASSCAP) announced that it has been awarded $600,000 in federal funds to extend for another year, the federal diaper pilot program that provides diapers for low-income families. The $600,000 is on top of the original $1.2 million grant that funded the program for two years. MASSCAP has operated the program with 16 agencies across Massachusetts and Connecticut to distribute over two million diapers to low-income families.

The Senate approved and sent to the House a bill that supporters say would simplify and modernize child custody jurisdiction laws in the Bay State.

Supporters, noting Massachusetts is the only one of the 50 states that has not opted into this law, argued the pact will make the Bay State’s interstate custody laws consistent with the 49 other states. They noted the bill would create clear rules that would be established for multi-state custody cases, prioritizing the home state of the child and ensuring Massachusetts courts can work effectively with courts in other states, nationally and in other countries for international child custody orders.

The measure would require that the day be “observed by the people, with appropriate exercises in the schools and otherwise, to acknowledge the history of genocide and discrimination against Indigenous peoples, and to recognize and celebrate the thriving cultures and continued resistance and resilience of Indigenous peoples and their tribal nations.” Rep. Christine Barber (D-Somerville) sponsored the same proposal in the House.

HEALEY BLOCKS SUSPENSION OF GUN LAW CHANGES

Gov. Healey attached an emergency preamble to the bill, recently signed by the governor, that changed some of the state’s gun laws. The emergency preamble makes the law take effect immediately instead of on Oct. 23 as originally scheduled. The move came on the heels of the announcement of a campaign to repeal the law by gathering the 37,287 signatures required to place it on the 2026 ballot.

12.4 MILLION FOR ROAD SAFETY

USE INTEREST FROM STATE’S “RAIN DAY FUND” TO LEVERAGE FEDERAL FUNDS (S 2954)

Gov. Maura Healey signed into law legislation that would leverage the interest from the state’s Rainy Day Fund to better compete for federal dollars, to ensure the state receives the maximum possible share of federal funds and to pay down the state’s long term debt liabilities. School Construction Advisory Group Membership for Winter Hill and Brown Planning Announced

Advisory Group meetings and broad public process to launch in October; First meeting is Oct. 8

SOMERVILLE– Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is announcing the members of the Somerville School Construction Advisory Group. Over the course of an in-depth process, members will develop a recommendation to the Mayor on both the location and scope of a renovated or
