For over two years William Tauro, his family and campaign staff were dealing with two cyber terrorist who were threatening and harassing Tauro and his family online and on certain social media platforms and online news websites to interfere with his election campaign and more important he was harassing Tauro’s family including his wife, his children, his nine grandchildren and his campaign staff, but they took it too far! It continued for over 2 1/2 years until Tauro contacted federal authorities and the Somerville Police Department. Obituary

Mr. Henry Augusto Maciel, a lifelong Somerville resident, passed away on Thursday, October 24th he was 91. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Jose A. and Mary D. (Soares) Maciel. A graduate of Somerville High School, Henry worked for the Somerville Public School System as a custodian and retired following many years of service.

The Senate 38-2, approved and sent to the House climate/energy legislation that supporters say will make systemic changes to the state’s clean energy infrastructure that will help the state achieve its net zero emissions by 2050 goals. They say it will also expand electric vehicle use and infrastructure and protect residents and ratepayers. A House-Senate conference committee drafted the compromise version to resolve the differences in the competing versions approved by the House and Senate earlier this year.

SOMERVILLE– Mayor Katjana Ballantyne is announcing that the City of Somerville’s Community, Help,
Outreach, and Recovery (COHR) unit of Somerville Police Department and the Somerville Prevention Services division of Health and Human Services will host two National Prescription Drug Take Back Day locations on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. at
220 Washington Street and 6 Newbury Street.

Medford & Somerville Residents Invited to ‘Caregiver Red Carpet’ Event

MVES Event Features VR, Music, 7News Reporter as MC, and More

Families from Medford and surrounding communities participated in a Virtual Reality program this summer at Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES). The VR program was designed for caregivers and their loved ones. They had a chance to “travel” around the world, but perhaps more exciting, they were able to revisit beloved spots such as the house they grew up in or the church where they were married. This program was especially moving for those with memory loss such as dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
