Obituary
Geraldine M. Enos (Deveau), a beloved lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. She was 97 years young.
Born and raised in Somerville, Geraldine was the cherished daughter of the late Leo J. and Theresa M. (Gaudet) Deveau. A gifted seamstress, she had a passion for creating her own outfits and once wore a design of her own in a fashion show.
In her leisure time, Geraldine found joy in bowling, winning numerous awards throughout the years. She had a love for travel, exploring destinations from Aruba to London, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Cape Cod, and the breathtaking White Mountains, always appreciating the beauty of the world around her.
Geraldine retired from New England Telephone after nearly two decades of service.
Geraldine was renowned for her culinary skills, particularly her Sunday dinners after Mass.
An active member of the Somerville Senior Center who loved playing bingo. She devoted her time to volunteering at various events, always bringing her radiant smile and enthusiasm to every occasion.
Beloved mother of Cheryl Kelley of Revere, Richard Enos and his wife Lynne of Medford, the late Susan Patti and the late Patricia Fitzpatrick. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Leonie Ward, Royden Deveau, and Alphee Deveau.
Calling Hours will be held Friday October 25th morning in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville from 8:30AM to 10:30AM.
Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Benedict Church 25 Arlington St., Somerville at 11:00AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
