Dear Editor and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,
I was just reading your article on a page I am on in regards to Marie Curtatone and how she is being accused of recording a fraudulent deed. I am having problems with a will/trust that my grandmother left and I feel someone (her nephew) is trying to take my inheritance from her. He is very close friends with Maria and Joe Curtatone. His name is Sean, a former Somerville attorney.
I am desperate for help. I know that my grandmother would have never left him all her money. He always took care of her legal stuff and I feel he had her sign without her knowing what was actually in there. She just sold her house that they talked her into to selling and then hurried to get her out. She was old and never read anything she signed because she thought he could do no wrong but I’m learning now that it was all bull shit. I called lawyers and they want more money than I can afford and I don’t know where to turn. But I do know I deserve my inheritance for myself and her great grand children.
Sean’s name is listed as Distribution of Trust Estate and his wife Peri is listed as successor Trustee. All of this was done after his Federal charges. The house was supposed to be split between my mom, my sister and I after her death but they convinced her to sell the house after my mom’s death. So the house was sold $1.2mill and now all in Sean’s name that was recorded at the Registry of Deeds at Maria’s office.
My grandmother has two granddaughters, four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She would never leave it all to her nephew who has always had money. His brother Michael is also listed in the will and his ex secretary was the one who notarized the papers. I got the trust from the Registry of Deeds on Wednesday, but I know my grandmother did not agree to this. He had to have had her sign it without her knowing. The original will was replaced by a new will all of a sudden and recorded in 2023 at the Registry of Deeds office of Maria Curtatone in East Cambridge.
It was sold last year September 2023 and she passed January this year. I grew up in that family home they owned it for over sixty years. I went to Somerville high for a few years and I took care of that house with my husband after my grandfather passed in 2014. It was ALWAYS supposed to be left to the three of us and that was why she never sold to make sure we had it. They convinced her it was best (which I agree it was) but I didn’t realize all the allegations going on behind the scenes with Sean and Maria Curtatone and now I am 1000% convinced in my opinion he did all this to line his own pocket yet again.
I called a lawyer and they wanted $6000.00 up front which I don’t have so I need to try and find someone who will help and not put me in the poor house and on the streets. I just want my inheritance to go where it’s meant to go, myself my sister and our children. Not Sean nor Maria Curtatone. I actually looked up to them my entire life and now I know I was a fool.
My grandmother thought Sean could do no wrong and being a lawyer I assumed he wound take good care of her. All he did was screw us over.
