Middlesex Federal Will Match Toys for Tots Donations Made ‪November 24th through December 13th‬

Photo :Michael McWilliams, Middlesex Federal Assistant Vice President-Lending and Somerville Kiwanis Past-President, places his toy donation into the Middlesex Federal’s Davis Square Toys for Tots collection box.  For every toy collected at its Davis, Teele, and Medford Square locations between November 24th and December 13th, Middlesex Federal will donate another, up to at least 125 additional toys.  U.S. Marine Corp will distribute these toys to less fortunate children living in the local communities.

On November 18, 2017, at approximately 17:30 hours, Officer Ducasse and I were contacted by Kmart loss prevention for assistance with a group of shoplifters. Upon arrival, loss prevention officers directed us to two suspects as they exited the store. The female suspect was immediately very vocal, and noticeably reluctant to follow our commands.

Somerville-Middlesex Federal Donates Turkeys to Project SOUP

George Dilboy Humanitarian Awards Champagne Brunch Reception

George Dilboy was born in 1896 from Alatsata, Greece, the same village where my maternal grandparents emigrated from settling in Somerville around the same time as his family. In 1912 at the age of 17, while living in Somerville, George Dilboy went voluntarily back to Greece to fight with his fellow countrymen in the Balkan wars against the Turks.

A disturbing case of neglect, disorganization and conflict in motion

Like creatures of the wild, we as parents and family members know instinctively how to guard our children. We know how fragile their first years are, and later as they enter into a complex society – attending schools, making friends at playgrounds and joining sports organizations.

As they begin to learn gradual and monitored steps towards independence, we know they can be vulnerable and easily swayed by peers and adults.
