Patricia A. (Gavin) Sullivan devoted wife of the late Daniel F. Sullivan Jr., passed away surrounded by the love of her family on October 4, 2026.
Daughter of the late Alice (Malone ) Gavin and Michael J. Gavin. Devoted mother of Michael J. Sullivan of Everett, Daniel F. Sullivan and wife Tammy Sullivan of North Carolina, John L. Sullivan and his late wife Kathleen M. Sullivan of Somerville, Colleen Madden and her husband Sean of Methuen, the late Edward T. Sullivan. Mother in law of Deborah Foti and Anne Sullivan.
Cherished sister and best friend of the late Alice Gavin Tierney, Michael Gavin and his wife Tami of California, Kenneth Hersey and his late wife Phyllis of Maine, Donna Hersey of Cambridge and Dale Cusack of North Andover. Loving Nana of Kerri and Pat Candelino and son Pasquale, Jenelle and David Pantanella and daughters Alexis, Harper, and Chelsea, Daniel and Amanda Sullivan and daughter Chloe, Michael and Kerrin Sullivan and son Colton, Justin Sullivan and partner Ashley O’Brien and son Nolan, Sean and Rachel Madden and sons Callum and Liam, Brendan and Taylor Madden, Conor Madden and the late Jacklyn Sullivan.
Patricia is survived bymany nieces, nephews and cousins. Retired Senior Manager of Cambridge Housing Authority and former office Manager of the George Dilboy Post #529 Somerville MA. Patricia lived a long happy life of 87 years, always the life of the party enjoying the company of everyone she had the opportunity to meet. A special thanks goes to Pathway Healthcare especially Sarah, Mariandy, Laura, Virginia and Gail for the care and compassion given to our Mother during her last moments of life.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Tuesday, October 13th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. The Funeral Procession will begin on Wednesday, October 14th at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church at 10:00AM.
A private burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden at a later date.
