From a recent Sports Illustrated article that tells the story of Fidel Castro. 

Before he decided to go into dictating, Fidel Castro was into pitching. Among the longballs he gave up was one to my baseball managerial idol, Dick Williams (which Williams writes about in ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’, his autobiography). One has to wonder what history would have looked like had the Giants picked up his option. Somerville Remembering Josephine DiPersio

Mrs. Josephine M. (Alibrandi) DiPersio, a lifelong resident of Somerville, died on Saturday, November 26th, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was 82. 
Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helena (DeAngelis) Alibrandi. Josephine worked for many years in Cambridge as a clerk at the Registry of Deeds. Somerville Remembering Mark Haley Sr.


This past week Somerville mourns the passing of Mark Haley Sr.

Mark was a friend to so many people in this great city spreading joy and happiness wherever he went with his million-dollar personality and fantastic smile. 

Mark Haley Sr. will be sadly missed here in the Ville!

Rest in peace!
