Naveo Credit Union employees dressed up in Halloween costumes on Monday, October 31 and raised $300 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during their Costumed for a Cure event. Naveo raised funds at their branches in one week and then the funds were matched.
The Costumed for a Cure event has become an annual participation at Naveo, one that members and employees look forward to. In recent years, the event has led to a competition between both branches for collections as well as costume originality. This year, Naveo’s Somerville Retail staff featured handmade Starbucks-inspired costumes.
To boost collections, employees were given the opportunity to trade in their business clothes for jeans the Friday before Halloween with a donation to the cause.
“Costumed for a Cure is a great way to create awareness and raise much-needed funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This fundraiser is a fun way our employees to do their part in raising money for a great cause,” commented Rui F. Domingos, Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union.
