Somerville Police Department Good News

On November 22nd, Beth Roche and Jennifer Caranfa were invited to visit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.<!–more–>  This visit was to thank them for their continued support of raising money for The Jimmy Fund in honor of friend/coworker Officer Sean Collier. Over the last four years, they have raised over $20,000 with their Annual Collier Kickball Extravaganza. Our thanks to our Somerville Community, friends, and family who attended this event. #SomervilleMA #Community #DonatingForAGoodCause #charityevent Somerville Times
Beth and Jen, along with Officer Timothy Van Nostrand, Maureen DiPaolo, volunteers, player, and local businesses work tirelessly year round to organize this amazing event. Every year this event received bigger turnouts than previous years, and it is a small way of keeping Officer Sean Collier’s memory alive. All proceeds from this annual event are donated directly to The Jimmy Fund in Officer Sean Collier’s memory.
The Jimmy Fund was a charity that Officer Sean Collier donated a portion of his earnings to, ever since he was able to earn a paycheck. Even though this event doesn’t pull in millions of dollars, Beth and Jen feel every little bit donated helps to find a cure for cancer. #collierstrong
