President Shannon Deyeso The Medford Lions Club hosted a Narcan and overdose awareness talk at Carroll’s Restaurant that’s located in Medford Square.

St. Hilaire, William -Of Somerville, March 21st. Beloved husband of the late Clemence (Janvier). Father of Wilbur St. Hilaire and his wife Judy Vechmamontier of Somerville and Steve St. Hilaire SPD and his wife Tracy of Melrose . Son of the late Jean Francois and Ludie St. Hilaire. Grandfather of Jaden, Autumn, Jared and Sarina St. Hilaire. William is also survived by his cousin Maryse Anne Morose. He was the owner of Cambridge Taxi for many years and drove his own taxi, medallion #202. William was a devout Christian who taught Sunday school and was known as an upstanding member of his church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Grace Church of God, 257 Pearl St., Malden on Saturday, March 25th at 11am. Calling hours will be held at the above mentioned church from 10am-11am. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Beacon Street Protected Bicycle Lane to Close for 2017 Construction Season


Beacon Street is one of the most heavily utilized bicycle corridors in the State.

 

Due to ongoing construction on Beacon St., the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, City of Somerville, and project contractors have determined that it is in the interest of public safety to CLOSE the protected bike lane, between Oxford St. and Washington St., for the 2017 construction season, beginning on Monday, March 20. Don’t answer unknown phone numbers, since these might be robocalls. Do not speak or touch any buttons during the call, since this might enable more calls in the future. On March 12, 1988, Sheila Levesque, a 35-year-old mother of six children was stabbed to death in her home in Malden.

Some proposals can raise neighborhood concerns such as the sufficiency of parking, to density, to affordability.
