The 2017 Annual Somerville Council on Aging’s St. Patrick’s Day Party was held this past Friday afternoon at Somerville’s Winter Hill Yacht Club.

The members of the yacht club hosted the annual event that included everything from homemade Irish dishes of corned beef and cabbage with Irish bread and dessert to good old-fashioned Irish music.

Folk dancing and festive St. Patrick’s day decor filled the ballroom overlooking the Mystic River.

Somerville Council on aging Director Cindy Hickey  and her staff  did an outstanding job organizing the event which included over one hundred Somerville seniors that were in attendance at the St. Patrick’s Day event, most all decked out in green, wearing clovers and leprechaun pins.

Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone with his lovely wife Nancy Curtatone, Police Chief David Fallon and his command staff, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan, Somerville Alderman-at-large Jack Connolly, Attorney Michael Dwyer, and Somerville’s own George Landers were amongst the crew of helping hands that helped serving the scrumptious Irish dinner as well as entertaining the cheerful crowd singing on stage.
The Winter Hill Yacht Club has been a good neighbor in the community hosting many events like this one for the seniors of Somerville’s Council on Aging events for the city’s seniors for several years.
