Additional activities and reopening guidelines in Phase 4, Step 2 of the State’s reopening plan will go into effect in Somerville on Saturday, June 19. Somerville will be joining Boston’s reopening schedule, which is on a three-week delay from the State’s plan. All of the newly allowed activities will be subject to regular City permitting and safety rules and the State’s sector-specific COVID-19 guidelines. SOMERVILLE, MA – Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone submitted a $5 million proposal to the City Council to acquire the Somerville Armory building at 191 Highland Ave., which the Council approved by a unanimous vote at its May 13 meeting. The City would be acquiring the property via eminent domain and would preserve the facility for arts uses. Looks like we know where Mayor Joe may be going after he leaves office. We heard that Harvard University blew him off from receiving a high paying position. Then we heard that he tried to snake his way into the city of Cambridge’s city manager’s position, but Cambridge smartened up and blew him off as well. Now we are hearing that it looks like our illustrious mayor is now getting an extremely high paying position with Suffolk Construction. Where he has given them so much consideration and then some over the past years and vice-versa that they now may just own him!
