Francis G. “Frank” Sweeney was a wonderful person who will be sadly missed here in Somerville.

Mr. Francis G. “Frank” Sweeney of Somerville passed away on May 12, 2021, at the age of 75. Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of Dorothy Sweeney Corbosiero.
Frank was the beloved husband of Helen M. Grinnell Sweeney and devoted father of Kevin F. Sweeney of Somerville; Kerry L. Sweeney of Merrimack, NH; and Kristen C. Krakofsky and her husband, Michael, of Tewksbury. He was also the loving “Papa” to his grandson, Max Krakofsky.
An honorably discharged veteran, Frank served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea, during the Vietnam War. Following retirement from the printing business, Frank loved spending time riding and working on his motorcycles and was a long-time member of the Somerville YMCA.
Calling hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Square) Somerville on Wednesday morning, May 19th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Internment with military honors will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, MA.
