Obituary
Daniel F. Markham, Jr., of Medford and North Falmouth, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 91.
Daniel was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Ellen (Grady) Markham and the devoted son of the late Mary Markham. He was the loving father of his daughters Joan Markham and Ellen Markham, of Medford, his daughter Patricia Kelley and her late husband, Joseph of Medford and Falmouth, his daughter Kathryn McClellan and her husband, William, of Medford, and his son Daniel G. Markham and his wife, Jennifer, of Winchester. He was also the loving companion of Elizabeth Babaian of Boston. He was the cherished brother to the late John Markham, and his wife Nancy, and Robert Emmett Markham.
A proud and devoted grandfather, “Grampy” will be deeply missed by Margaret, Patrick, and Abigail McClellan of Medford, and Delaney, Hannah, and Daniel Markham of Winchester.
Daniel was the founder and owner of Markham Metals, Inc., where he built a successful business through hard work, integrity, and dedication. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight of the Medford Knights of Columbus Council No. 141 and later as District Deputy for the Massachusetts State Council. In his earlier years, Daniel was also a Greater Lowell Golden Gloves boxing champion.
Daniel will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generosity, his faith, and the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Tuesday morning August 11, 2026, at 10AM, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Medford at 11:00. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Monday August 10, 2026, 4:00 – 7:00. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
