Somerville Police Warning about Scam Calls Dialing Ville Residents.

We have received several complaints recently from Somerville residents and businesses concerning a specific phone scam. A caller from a ‘617’ area code phone number is randomly calling our residents and stating that a family member was in an accident or being held hostage and demands money. In all cases it was a scam. When the police have called the number back, a recorded message states the voicemail is not set up and then it disconnects the call. If anyone receives a call such as this, please report it to the Somerville Police by calling 617-625-1212.

“I’m proud to receive these endorsements from groups that represent firefighters, police officers, DPW workers, librarians, school custodians and many others that provide integral city services to those that live and work in Somerville,” said Sullivan. “These men and women are some of the hardest working people I know. They work tirelessly to keep our streets clean and neighborhoods safe and have helped to put Somerville back on the map as a destination city.” Continue reading SULLIVAN ANNOUNCES PUBLIC SAFETY AND MUNICIPAL WORKERS ENDORSEMENTS
