Somerville Firefighters Mourn Passing of Retired Brother

The chief of the Somerville Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of former Somerville Firefighter Robert Galvin Sr. – Tower 1 retired.

Galvin, a 66, year old resident of Melrose, formerly of Somerville, died after a short illness on September 22, 2013. Robert was the dear son of the late Joseph and Eileen Galvin and the loving father of Robert A. Galvin Jr. of Somerville. He was the brother of James J. Galvin of VA, Joseph Galvin, Jr. of Somerville and the late Eileen (Galvin) Ernst. Robert was the beloved companion of Kathryn A. Powell for 12 years and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He will not be forgotton!
