2018 EAST SOMERVILLE CARNIVAL AT SOMERSTREETS

This past Sunday, for the 8th year in a row, East Somerville Main Streets partnered with the City of Somerville and the Somerville Arts Council and presented Carnaval @ Somerstreets.

The event was held on Broadway in Somerville. Broadway was closed off from McGrath Highway to Pennsylvania Ave, but open to thousands of people that enjoyed awesome music, performances from community groups, children’s activities, and food from all over the world wuth interactive activities, flea and artisan market, and more!

The Taste of Somerville, the city’s premiere culinary and cultural event returns on Wednesday June 13.

Following last year’s move to our new home in the beautiful and scenic Nathan Tufts Park, the Taste of Somerville, now in its 20th year, has continued to grow by leaps and bounds. Somerville Kiwanis Club Bike Safety Day

The Kiwanis Club of Somerville held it’s annual Bicycle Safety Day on Saturday at the East Somerville Community School.  More than one hundred young bike riders and some adults participated in the program.  Each rider was given a new bicycle helmet that was properly fitted with the help of Somerville Police  Officer Maryanne Manfra.

Somerville Council on Aging to host A Day of Remembrance

Throughout our lives we all experience grief and loss.  On Thursday, June 7th The Somerville Council on Aging, in conjunction with Beacon Hospice, will be hosting a service of remembrance.  Nancy Duffy, a Bereavement Coordinator, will help us take a moment to acknowledge those we have recently lost and to provide us with time to recall some of our fondest memories.
