It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of retired Officer Brian Doherty. Officer Doherty passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024. He was 76 years old.

Officer Doherty worked for the Medford Police Department for 32 years. He first joined the department on September 8, 1980. He retired from the Medford Police Department on June 30, 2012.

Officer Brian Doherty is the father of Officer Derek Doherty. He is also uncle to Officer Patrick Doherty, brother to both Captain Alan Doherty (Ret.) and former Lieutenant Thomas Doherty and son to Officer Francis Patrick Doherty, all of the Medford Police Department.
