Somerville’s Big Gay Dance Party

This past Saturday night hundreds joined the Somerville Arts Council and the Somerville LGBTQ Community Liaison for the 2nd year of the city-sponsored LGBTQ+ dance party to celebrate pride month.

DJ Dee Diggs provided some sweet tunes as drag performances by JP Delgado Galdamez and Sham Payne took center stage at Union Square Plaza in Somerville.

There were free photobooth fun events with Ellien Laramee-Byers and refreshing Gracie’s ice cream to satisfy the taste buds.

The Somerville High School Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) was selling student made pride t-shirts to support their organization with LGBTQ+ organizations tabling including:

– Somerville High School GSA

– Somerville Department of Health & Human Services/LGBTQ commission

– RESPOND Inc.

– Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC)

– Cambridge Health Alliance & Massachusetts Alliance for Portugese Speakers – will table and do HIV testing

– Somerville Arts Council

The event was free and open to all LGBTQ+ individuals and allies!
