NARRATIVE

This is a brief description of the events that took place on July 11, 2014 at approximately 1:19 PM as they pertain to incident number 14022713.
I, Officer. Joseph S Teves, was working in full uniform assigned to marked cruiser 664. At approximately 1:19 PM I was dispatched to 25 Bow St. for an alleged domestic violence event that was taking place.
When I arrived on location I was met by three individuals. The first individual that I came in contact with was Victim 1. The second individual that I came in contact was xxx. From this point forward xxx will be referred to as victim #2. The third and final individual that I came into contact with was ( xxx). From this point forward will be referred to as the witness.
I asked victim #1 to explain to me what had happened. Victim #1 explained to me that victim #2’s ex-girlfriend ( Cheryl Peterson DOB 09/08/1975 ) just showed up at their location and began chasing Victim # 2 screaming ” I am going to fucking kill you ” From this point forward Mrs. Peterson will be referred to as the defendant. Victim #1 then explained how the defendant chased victim #2 down the sidewalk until victim # 2 managed to get inside a chain linked fence closing the gate behind him, preventing the defendant from getting to him. Victim #1 then stated that as victim #2 braced his hand and foot against the gate of the chain link fence the defendant began to violently throw her body and shoulder off of the gate. while she continued to threaten victim # 2. Victim #1 then stated that when the defendant realized that she would not be able to gain access to victim #2 she went to the vehicle that they were using ( a Blue pick up truck Ma Reg MF7 ). The victim then allegedly opened up the passenger door and began to throw all of the contents that was inside the vehicle out onto the sidewalk and street. Victim #1 then stated that when the defendant opened the center console she found money that belonged to him. The defendant allegedly took the money and fled that area heading towards Union Square.
At this time Officer Vannostrand ( East 1 ) Arrived to assist with the situation. I asked what the defendant was wearing . We were informed that the defendant was wearing black shorts with a black see through skirt over them.
We were also informed that the defendant was wearing a bright Pink cast on her Left hand. After receiving the description Officer Vannostrand left my location in an attempt to locate the defendant. Officer Vannostrand was able to locate the defendant in the vicinity of the Police station. Wile Officer Vannostrand was speaking with the defendant I continued to interview Victim #2 as well as the witness. I also advised victim #2 of his 209A rights. All statements pertaining to the event were consistent between all three individuals. I was then contacted by Officer Vannostrand and informed that not only did the defendant have the money on her but she was making multiple spontaneous utterances about how she broke into the vehicle and stole the funds. Officer Vannostrand also stated that she kept blurting out that she stole the money because he took her money a few weeks earlier. At this time the defendant was placed into custody and booked in the usual manner by Lt. Vivolo The defendant was charged with the following crimes.
#1 Chapter 266 Section 18 B&E into a vehicle in the daytime for a felony #2 Chapter 266 Section 30 Larceny under $250.00
#3 Chapter 275 Section 2 Threats to commit a crime.
In closing Officer Vannostrand will be filing a supplemental report for this incident as well.
Respectfully submitted,
Officer Joseph S. Teves #297
