On January 28th, 2014 at approximately 9:16 p.m., while on
uniformed patrol in W7, I, Officer Goncalves along with Officer Schneider (W6) and Officer Perrone (SW) were dispatched to Alewife Brook Parkway for a domestic dispute. The following is a summary of the event that took place:
Upon arrival, I was met with the reporting party, . rp stated that while bathing , Julia Meza-Chamarro, DOB:06/06/1978 came into the bathroom and began yelling at him stating that it was late and that the child should just be put to bed. rp told his her to get out of the bathroom . They began yelling at one another in the bathroom. Mrs. Chamarro became angry and began swinging her arms in an aggressive manner towards rp . He said at this point, he did not back away and she began to hit him in the face with her right hand. rp began to walk away from Mrs. Chamarro and went into the living room/office area. She followed him and threatened to call the police. At this point rp. stated that she became very angry and threw what he believed to be the house telephone at him. The phone clipped the side of his glasses, damaging them, and leaving a small, red scratch on the left hand side of his temple/eye area.
When I spoke to Mrs. Chamarro she looked visibly upset and was crying. She admitted to me that she had pushed and hit her husband in the bathroom. She also stated that she had thrown the phone in his direction, but was not aware if it had struck him. At this point, I placed Mrs. Chamarro under arrest for Simple Assault and Battery and searched her. She was transported to the Somerville Police Station by Officer Manfra in marked Unit 200. At the station, she was booked in the usual manner by Sgt. Marino.
I advised rp of his 209A rights and gave him a paper copy as well. He stated he did not wish to seek an emergency restraining order against Mrs. Chamarro.
