Letter from the Editor:Somerville City Council Out Of Touch And Should Be Defunded Themselves

By William Tauro

Do we really want to cut the Somerville Police Budget? I sure don’t!

Shots were fired with multiple gun casings recovered on Canal Lane early this Friday morning. This is the second time in less than a 24 hour period that this took place and at the same location.

This is all happening while the Somerville City Council is trying to cut the police budget out of the city’s budget. These Somerville City Councilors, including two of my opponents who are also sitting Somerville city councilors that are running for mayor, are certainly not looking out for the safety and well being of our Somerville residents!

Call your ward city councilors, call the mayors office and express your discust on this matter! Let your voices be heard! Remember in November!

It’s time for change! #TEAMTAUROforMAYOR2021

  1. The City counsel defunded SPD and Counsel-at-Large candidates Eve Seitchik and Willie Burnley Jr. are running their campaigns on Defund the Police. I don’t know about you but with all this violent crime going on in the city, I want my police department funded. Vote accordingly!
