The Broadway bridge is scheduled to close for a year starting on Friday, March 22. This work is necessary to build the Green Line Extension, however we realize it’s going to be difficult. Here are some tips on how you can prepare, who to contact during construction, and how you can help the neighborhood:
Plan your new commute. If you normally walk, drive, bike, or take the bus between Ball and Magoun squares, your commute will be affected by the bridge closure. Take a look at detour maps for all modes of transportation on the City’s GLX website or the State’s to find which routes will work best for you.
Get more information and report issues throughout the construction process:
Always call 911 if there is an immediate threat to safety.
Contact the GLX team 24/7 via their hotline at 855-459-4636 or by emailing info@glxinfo.com.
311 (or 617-666-3311) is also always available.
Sign up for the City’s weekly construction newsletter and the GLX project updates email to get the latest.
Support local businesses, especially during construction. Share your photos on social media using the hashtag #Loyal2Local when you shop, dine, or visit businesses in a affected by construction, and inspire others to do the same.
I am ready. Got rid of my prius and got an F150 as I plan to take highways to get around this. Better than sitting in traffic here. All this for something many of us do not want or have any use for.
