Friday Night Working Crane Causes Davis Square Gridlocked Traffic Jam

By William Tauro

This past Friday night a large crane blocked the right lane of traffic on Elm Street during the peak traffic time at 5:30pm.

A crane hoisting air conditioning units with no police detail in site was the cause of all the gridlock while commuters were trying to make their way through traffic to get home adding hours to their Friday night commute.

Packed solid lanes of buses and automobiles lined the streets from Davis Square blocking to Cedar Street, Lowell Street, Elm Street to Ball Square at College Avenue all the while an employee from the crane company was directing traffic.
