There is word that the new Somerville High School project that’s located on Highland Avenue allegedly got shut down this past Thursday after ground testing results came back positive for asbestos.
According to sources at the scene working on the site from the construction company who told us that “The ground all tested positive for asbestos and other toxic contaminants that were there from prior years from old heating unit components and piping forcing work crews to halt work and told to pull out all the heavy equipment from the job site on Friday.”
Calls to city hall went unanswered due to city hall’s Friday work schedule.
