Mostly everyone from Somerville has been at the Mount Vernon Restaurant for either an event, a service club dinner or even for a couple of their scrumptious lobster dinner deals at one time or another over past years.
But how many of you ever had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Marty Henry Sr?
Marty is the driving force of the Mount Vernon’s success and his continuous generosity to the community and to Somerville charities goes unnoticed many times.
The Mount Vernon Restaurant as many of you know is where all three of the Somerville service clubs meet just about every week.
Marty and the Henry Family are one of the biggest supporters that contribute all year long to help support our service clubs and their causes.
Marty provides all the service clubs with the weekly meeting room space and rock bottom discounted club dinner deals so that the clubs can operate, do their business so that their members goals can alway be met.
The Somerville Lions Club is especially grateful to Marty when it come time for the Annual Springtime Lions Charity Brunch when Marty hands over the restaurant to the club for the day to benefit the Lions Clubs charities to help fight loss of vision.
The Somerville Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs have definitely been blessed the day that Marty and the Henry Family created a bond together with them and began organizing charity event planing together.
Marty and the Henry Family are truly unsung heroes of Somerville.
