Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Craig OHARA-JOHNSON (Trespass)

On 09/07/2016 I, Officer Douglas Brioso was assigned to uniformed patrol (East 2). At approximately 1:26am I, along with Officer Moreira (East 3) was dispatched to Dunkin Donuts located at 282 Somerville Ave for a report of an unwanted male sleeping inside. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Dunkin Donuts employee XXXXX. XXXXX stated that there was a male party sleeping at a table, refusing to leave. He pointed towards a table where the male party was sleeping. The individual was identified as OHARA-JOHNSON, Craig. XXXXX asked OHARA-JOHNSON to leave several times because he was sleeping and did not purchase any items. OHARA-JOHNSON ignored XXXXX and refused to leave the premises.

OHARA-JOHNSON was now sitting up in his seat when I approached him. I asked if he would like to go to a shelter and rest but he declined. At that time I explained that he would have to leave the premises because management asked that he do so because he did not purchase any items and was sleeping in the dining area. OHARA-JOHNSON shook his head and said “I’m not going anywhere”. Once again I offered to make arrangements with a shelter and he simply ignored me. I also offered medical assistance and he stated “I’m done talking to you”.

At that time I placed OHARA-JOHNSON under arrest for TRESPASSING (c266 s120).

OHARA-JOHNSON was transported to Somerville Police Headquarters via (Unit 200) Officer Radochia, where he was booked in the usual manner by Lt Ward.

Respectfully submitted,

Patrolman Douglas Brioso #267
