SOMERVILLE, MA — “Getting Comfortable in the Digital World” Training Kicks off in October at SCATV – New initiative aims to improve resident’s digital and technology skills
Beginning on October 20th, The Somerville Public Library and Somerville Community Access Television will launch a new collaborative training program for improving people’s digital & technology skills called, Getting Comfortable in the Digital World.
Many visitors to the Somerville Public Library and Somerville Community Access Television station go there seeking technology assistance whether it is for access to computers and Wi-Fi, introductory training in computer basics, or more advanced media requests like digital storytelling; this new civic and community venture aims to meet that need.
This pilot program will offers free computer, media and technology classes, and will be held at SCATV at 90 Union Square, on the third Tuesday of each month from 11am to 2pm. Participants may also register in advance for a specific time-slot. From 11am-12pm the team will focus on Social Media, from 12pm-1pm will be Using your Smartphone and 1pm-2pm will be Digital Storytelling. To sign up for these classes or to inquire, please contact:
