SYHA is hosting a holiday party for SYHA adults on Friday December 6, 8:00 pm at Caseys Tavern (173 Broadway, http://www.caseyssomerville.com).

It’s a great opportunity to socialize with people you see at the rink ALL THE TIME. And it’ll be a …warmer environment….with beer and cocktails. Tickets to the event are $10 dollars per person.

There will be raffles and a 50/50 during the party. A pair of Bruins tickets for December 31 game will be raffled off along with an Orleans $50 gift card, Boston Burger gift cards, 4 passes to Sky Zone and $15 dollars gift card to JP Licks.

St Clement Anchormen in Division Finals

St Clement Anchormen Stun Cathedral Again 28-6

The St Clement Football team held Cathedral the defending Super Bowl Champs to just 8 points in the Division 6 North Semi -Finals on Saturday, November 9th at Dilboy Stadium. Both teams were scoreless in the 1st quarter showing great defensive work. In the second quarter, lineman Connor Sullivan (Charlestown) intercepted the ball and scored on a 5 yard interception return. Deron Hines ran the ball for 117 yards and set up an 11yd touchdown pass from QB Michael Sullivan (Everett) to Khaneil Bruce (Everett) who scored 3 TDs in the game. Cathedral answered with a TD just before the half to make the score 16-8.

In the second half St Clement continued to show stellar defensive holding Cathedral scoreless. MacAllen Marcelin (Medford) intercepted the ball in the end zone to steal a TD from Cathedral leaving them scoreless at the end of the 3rd. Khaniel Bruce (Everett) had a pick 6 run of 25 yards and caught his third TD pass from QB Sullivan to make the score 28-6 sealing the win for the Anchormen.

“This feels incredible. The team played so well” said Colin Walsh who is in his 11th year as the head coach. The win is their 5th straight victory and is their best record since the 1984 team’s Super Bowl run. The Anchormen will face Boston Latin Academy in the Division 6 Noth Final next Saturday, 11/16 at 6 pm at Dilboy Stadium. The winner will punch their way to play in the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium.
