Obituary
Richard was born in Cambridge, then later moved to and grew up in Somerville. During high school he joined the drum and bugle corps. His lifelong dream was to become a law enforcement officer, and he started that journey as a Belmont Police Officer.
He then became an officer on the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and subsequently a Sergeant in the MA State Police. He was a devout Catholic, and a kind and loving soul, who’s love of Jesus and generosity couldn’t be measured, and would answer the call of someone in need, both on and off duty.
Richard cherished spending time with Michael, Ava, Debbie, Luis, Alyssa, Bri, LJ, Mary, Kylee and Liz, and they loved spending time with him. Richard and his brother Bob spent some time traveling to distant destinations, which he treasured. He loved spending time with his sisters Marie and Bernie, and also with his brothers Joe, Jack and Paul.
Richard is survived by: Michael Daly, his son and his granddaughter Ava Daly; Debra Daly-Ferrandiz, his daughter, her husband Luis and his grandchildren Alyssa, Bri and LJ; Michelle Hurd, his daughter, her husband Aaron and his grandchildren, Devon, Megan and Ethan; and Joe Daly, his son. He is also survived by his former spouses, Marie Daly and Mary Daly-Spada.
