Boston Chef & Resident Pitmaster Andy Husbands Hosts Maker’s Mark Pitmaster Dinner Series with BBQ Legend Tuffy Stone Bringing the Country’s Biggest Names in BBQ to The Smoke Shop at Assembly Row


WHAT:                On Tuesday, October 16, Boston’s Award-Winning Chef and Pitmaster, Andy Husbands of The Smoke Shop hosts the next installment of the inaugural Pitmaster Dinner Series, featuring World Record-Breaking Champion Pitmaster, Tuffy Stone. Presented by Maker’s Mark, the monthly dinner series is the first of its kind to debut in New England, bringing World BBQ Champions from across the country to The Smoke Shop’s newest location at Assembly Row.

Starting at 6:00PM, join Husbands and Stone as they team up to cook, smoke and prepare competition-style ‘cue, followed by an exclusive Q&A with the five-time World BBQ Champion.

Guests will kick off the evening with passed appetizers including Ribeye Cap Steak with brown butter vinaigrette and balsamic drizzle; and Blackened Rockfish with stone fruit relish and avocado crema; before heading to their seats for a family-style feast featuring Charred Tri-Tip with celery seed rub; Tarragon and Aleppo Chicken Leg QuartersApple and Cabbage Cole Slaw; Corn Pudding with poblano peppers; Collard Greens with pepper relish and Spicy Pinto Beans; as well as a desert course of Banana Pudding with chocolate cookie crumble and spicy walnuts to end the night on a sweet note. The bar will also be serving up signature Maker’s Mark cocktails to pair with duo’s award-winning BBQ.

Stone joins Husbands on the heels of debuting his first-ever cookbook, Cool Smoke: The Art of Great Barbecue, which will be on sale for guests along with copies of Husbands’ latest release, Pitmaster: Recipes, Techniques, and Barbecue Wisdom.

About the Pitmaster:

Dubbed “The Professor”, Tuffy Stone is a classically-trained chef, former marine, businessman, and television star who most recently served as a full-time judge on the popular reality show, Destination America’s BBQ Pitmasters for five seasons. His legendary precision and obsession with science has earned him Grand Champion titles in nearly every major barbecue competition including back-to-back wins at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, Grand Champion at the 2015 Kingsford Invitational, and making history at the Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational where Stone and his Cool Smoke BBQ Team became the only team to ever win the contest three times, taking home several top prizes. Known as one of the most formidable competitors on the circuit, Tuffy Stone knows exactly what it takes to master the art of barbecue.
