This past Saturday evening commodores as well as past commodores, members and representatives of area yacht clubs along the Mystic River attended the Annual Installation and Opening Night Commodore’s Ball Banquet for the Mystic Wellington Yacht Club in Medford.

2nd Annual Boston Marathon Motorcycle Ride in Honor of Slain Police Officer Sean Collier
Support Slain Police Officer Sean Collier’s Cause for Dana Farber Cancer Institute Motorcycle Run with over 2500 expected motorcycles to run the Boston Marathon route from Hopkinton to Boston then over to MIT Cambridge to lay a wreath on Officer Sean Collier’s site in which he was brutally murdered.

The Somerville News Weekly’s Special Person of the Week Roger Desrochers Jr
First we would like to begin with wishing a happy 54th birthday to the 9th year as president of Somerville Pop Warner, Roger Desrochers Jr.
Roger has lived in the Winter Hill area of Somerville for the past 53 years.
He has been coaching since he was 13 years old, 5 years in the Sister Judy leagues (Mystic Projects) until he was 18 years old.
