Dear Friends,
Having won the Democratic primary election to serve as State Representative for the 34th Middlesex District, I hereby irrevocably resign my position as an At-Large City Councilor, effective December 31, 2026. I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Somerville on the City Council through the end of this year.
Under the City Charter, I understand that the fifth-highest vote-getter in the most recent At-Large City Council election will assume the vacant seat. Accordingly, Marianne Walles will succeed me as an At-Large City Councilor.
I have known Marianne for many years and have great respect for her commitment to Somerville and its residents. I am confident that she will continue the work of serving our community thoughtfully and effectively.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the people of Somerville on the City Council, and I look forward to continuing to work with the City and our community in my new role as State Representative.
Sincerely,
Wilfred N. Mbah.

God bless the State House. He will just be hitch-hiking on everyone elses work rather than coming up with his own ideas. He will probably be a one term Representative, especially with the low turnout. I hope!
