Bekka Teerlink, a painter and illustrator who’s behind the Bikeyface comic, is Somerville’s June Artist of the Month. Bikeyface chronicles the joys of ditching the car and getting around by bicycle, and it’s developed a large following while also inspiring people to bike. Teerlink’s paintings are bright in color but often convey a slightly eerie atmosphere. The Somerville Arts Council interviewed her about her work and approach to creative endeavors.
