As part of its affordable housing agenda, Somerville launched a new lead-paint mitigation program this month to increase the supply of safe family housing in the city.
Lead Paint Safe Somerville provides no-interest forgivable loans to eligible residents to help them address existing lead hazards. It’s open to both tenants and property owners, and you can apply online.
The program is funded by a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the goal is to reach 90 homes by 2021.
