Somerville Remembering James W. Stace

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of James W. Stace on his passing.

Jim was a 50 year resident of Somerville as well as the former Director of Information Technology for the city of Somerville.

James W. Stace was a very nice man who will be sadly missed here in Somerville.

Obituary of James W. Stace

James W. Stace, 88 of Hampstead, NH, died peacefully Monday at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, MA with his wife Ellen and daughters Karen and Yvonne by his side.

Jim was born in Montreal, Canada, where he grew up, was educated and served in the Canadian Navy. At the age of 26 he came to the United States. He was a resident of Hampstead for the past 13 years, formerly of Somerville, MA, where he lived for over 50 years.

Jim was the Director of Information Technology for the city of Somerville, MA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Cambridge, MA Council #74 where he a third and fourth Degree and a Past Grand Knight. He was a member of the Professional Association of Information Technology. He loved music and was a percussionist.

He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle L. Selfridge.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ellen L. (Roy) Stace of Hampstead, NH of over 61 years.

Daughters Karen A. and her husband Dennis Browne of Sandown, NH and Yvonne M. Stace of Mashpee, MA.

Sister: June C. Roy of Franklin, MA.

His six Grandchildren: Kristy Latour and her husband Gary, James Browne, Meghan Sullivan, Jared Selfridge, Ellen Sullivan and Jaime Sullivan.

Also three Great Grandchildren: Audrey Sullivan, Henry Latour and Michael Latour.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Saturday, April 21st from 10-11:30 AM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon at St. Matthew’s Church, Windham, NH. Cremation will follow.
